Sean Carter’s Faith Testimony

A Story of Faith, Hope, and Redemption

Sean at home.

Sean Carter’s life changed forever on Easter weekend in 2005.

At 22 years old, Sean was a college student and the passenger in a truck driven by a drunk friend. The crash left him with a severe traumatic brain injury. He was unable to walk or speak, suffered a shattered pelvis, collapsed lungs, multiple scars, and required metal reinforcements in his body. After 39 days in a coma, Sean emerged with limited movement in one arm and one finger.

But Sean’s story did not end in tragedy.

Through the grace of God, Sean’s life has become a powerful testimony of hope, surrender, and faith in Jesus Christ.

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Today, Sean communicates using an iPad that speaks the words he types. Through this technology, and through the strength God has given him, Sean has shared life changing messages with hundreds of thousands of people at several hundred venues.

From School Assemblies to Christian Outreach

Since 2007, Sean and his mom, Jenny, have spoken primarily to schools and conferences through WhenSeanSpeaks, helping students and families understand the consequences of drunk driving and poor choices.

Now, Sean is stepping into a new chapter: WhenSeanSpeaks Christian Outreach.

This faith centered ministry focuses on Sean’s testimony of redemption, contentment in Christ, and the eternal hope found only in Jesus.

This presentation is different from Sean’s school talks. In this message, Sean openly shares about his renewed relationship with God, how faith filled the emptiness he once tried to satisfy through partying and selfish ambition, and why true hope is found in Christ alone.

No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

A Message for Churches and Christian Events

Sean’s story is a powerful testimony of surrender. He speaks about accepting God’s will, finding peace in the middle of unmet expectations, and learning to boast in weakness so that the power of Christ can shine through.

Sean is seeking opportunities to speak at churches, Christian conferences, camps, youth groups, outreach events, and other faith based gatherings. His heart is to encourage believers, reach people who need hope, and point others to Jesus.

There’s no greater calling than to help you find Jesus. My life would be terrible without Him.

On paper, a speaker who cannot speak aloud may sound unconventional. But God can do anything. Sean’s life is proof. God has already used his story to transform lives, and Sean believes there is more work ahead.
